Why College Can Be A Hard Choice - 1126 Words

Deciding to go to college can be a hard choice. College is not meant for everyone but it can be very helpful when it comes to finding a good job. Although not all degrees can be helpful, a business degree allows good job opportunities. The University of New Mexico believes that â€Å"Business, Finance and Economic employment rates are the fastest growing in the nation and by majoring in one of these fields at UNM, you will surely have a successful future.† For those who are not made for college, it is possible to start a businesses from the ground up. Both of these choices have their pros and cons. During the past year I have gotten incite on both sides. Being the daughter and employee of someone who has started a business from scratch, I have seen what it takes to start a business. During this time I have also had the learning experience of what it is like to be a college student, and because of my family business I have decided to get a major in business. More specifically, I would like to get a degree in management. A business degree takes about four years to complete. At the University of New Mexico, various business degrees are offered. This includes accounting, economics, statistics, general management, marketing management and operational management. Most of these degrees are offered at the Anderson School of Management.
